Time to draw parallels!!!
For episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood see:
- Two brothers: Both shows follow the adventures of two brothers and the viewer is immediately drawn in by the interaction between the siblings. Supernatural follows the Winchester brothers Sam and Dean, while Fullmetal Alchemist (FMA) follows the Elric brothers Edward (Ed) and Alphonse (Al).
- Road trip/travel: The two groups of brothers are always on the road, whether it is driving in a 1967 Chevy Impala on the highways of America in Supernatural or one brother traveling as a suit of armor (Al) while the other walks with the help of a robotic leg (Ed) in the fictional country of Amestris.
- Differences in height: Both younger brothers, Sam in Supernatural and Al in FMA, are much taller than their respective siblings. The actor who plays Sam is apparently very tall and Al is a suit of armor (there is an explanation for this and it is either very simple or completely outside the box). This serves as a comedic relief in FMA because big brother Ed is sensitive (extremely sensitive) about his short stature and he often blows up in an anime style when a character mentions his height.
- Fight supernatural evils: The Winchesters and the Elrics are the heroes of their respective shows and they battle evildoers on their travels. Sam and Dean hunts ghosts, demons, and other monsters of legends. Ed and Al are constantly trying to stop the homunculi's plan of "taking over" the country (I won't say what the homunculi are trying to do in case you want to watch the show yourself and please do because it is a great show).
- Mothers: Sadly, both Mary Winchester, mother of Sam and Dean, and Trisha Elric, mother of Ed and Al, died when the boys were young. Their deaths drove much of the two story lines. Sam and Dean took up hunting supernatural creatures to avenge their mother. Ed and Al lost their normal bodies (Ed lost an arm and a leg and Al lost his whole body, which is why he is a suit of armor) when they tried to bring Trisha back from the dead using alchemy, thus, they are searching for a way to get back their original bodies.
- Most importantly, the bond of family: One of the reasons that make these two shows worth watching is the bond between the brothers. They always try to protect the other and are willing to die for each other. The interactions between the brothers are touching and grab the viewer. Even though the brothers have all suffered through difficulties and lead unusual lifestyles, they are still family in the end.
